Timeless family portraits at Kennesaw Mountain’s Pigeon Hill Trailhead. A refined, natural setting perfect for classic spring photo sessions.

Nestled at the top of Pigeon Hill Trailhead in Kennesaw Mountain, this family session felt like something out of a storybook—sun-dappled trails, soft mountain air, and six hearts dressed in perfectly understated neutrals. A classic aesthetic, a serene setting, and the kind of images that will feel just as effortless 50 years from now.

A Spring afternoon with the McCrary Family at Kennesaw Mountain

There’s something effortlessly timeless about Kennesaw Mountain family portraits in the spring—especially along the quiet, wooded paths of Pigeon Hill Trailhead. For this lovely family of six, it offered the perfect blend of natural texture, soft light, and just the right amount of adventure. With four boys, including 7-month-old twins, this session was as joyful as it was beautifully styled. Their classic, neutral wardrobe echoed the earthiness of the trail, creating an elevated look that will feel just as refined decades from now as it does today.

Why This Location Was Perfect for This Family

As you can imagine, the walk to our spot was all uphill, but everyone took it in stride — especially the little ones. We landed at a large rock outcropping with narrow wooded paths nearby, giving us both open space and tucked-away corners. It was beautiful in a way that felt entirely effortless.

This family — two parents and four boys (including seven-month-old twins!) — has been with me for nearly seven years. Because of that, it’s such a privilege to photograph them year after year and to watch their story grow. These are the kinds of sessions that matter most: the ones that feel familiar, full of trust, and quietly beautiful.

Classic Style and Lasting Edits

As can be seen, their styling was soft and neutral, nothing too bold — just classic pieces that will never look dated. In fact, their choices were the kind that age gracefully. When they look back on these portraits in 20 or 30 years, they’ll still feel just as relevant.

That’s why I aim to create images that feel lovely, honest, and timeless. We’re not chasing trends. It’s preserving moments, that’s the goal.
