We had the pleasure of shooting Kristen & Drew’s wedding this summer. A sweet celebration of two souls and a beautiful gathering of family and friends. Sweet Meadow Farms was the chosen venue, and it was the perfect location for Kristen and Drew to make their promise official. The wide open spaces and beautifully orchestrated gardens of the property allowed us to really capture Kristen’s vision of what she felt this moment meant to her. The earthy colors of her bridesmaids dresses and the organic aesthetic of the table scapes at the reception tied perfectly with the peonies and garden roses of their bouquets.
The girls started their day off together in their fancy little matching robes and toasted to their friendship with a glass of champagne. They walked and chatted along the pathways of the gardens and laughed and sang songs that gave us a glimpse into the bond they have as friends. The guys share a similar story. Sitting on the covered porch of a farmhouse in the far west Georgia hills, nestled on 160 acres, sharing laughs and stories over a nice cold beer. Their day was seriously one of the calmest, most peaceful wedding events that we’ve photographed in a while. It was quite lovely.
Drew is a firefighter. So naturally, when given the opportunity, they brought in two antique vehicles to play a part in their day, a firetruck and a police car. The sweetest vehicles ever. I am a complete sucker for anything antique with a story. I love the nostalgia that they brought to their day. It is a huge part of who they are as a couple. And when couples allow who they are as individuals to be incorporated into their wedding day, I love that. I find a certain amount of beauty in the vulnerability of letting yourself shine.
Exchanging their vows under a beautiful 100+ year old oak, having dinner and dancing with friends under the star lit Georgia sky, all tucked away in the countryside, gave way to an incredible evening. A night that will go down in their books as one of the greatest they ever had.
